Regional Housing Strategy resources support local housing conversations
The Denver Regional Council of Governments Regional Planning and Development staff have released a collection of Regional Housing Strategy resources to help local governments communicate about housing needs and engage residents in community conversations.
The resources include a messaging playbook, customizable presentation templates, speaker notes and handouts developed through the Regional Housing Strategy process.
The toolkit helps community leaders explain why housing matters, facilitate discussions about local housing challenges and opportunities and highlight successful housing strategies in the region. Customizable slide decks include suggested talking points, discussion questions and opportunities to incorporate locally relevant content.
The resources build on extensive research conducted during the Regional Housing Strategy's development. Resources include an environmental scan of housing initiatives across the Denver region and a best practices review examining how metropolitan areas nationwide address housing production, preservation and affordability challenges.
Together, the tools support DRCOG’s broader effort to develop a coordinated, data-driven approach to housing to align local priorities, regional goals and community needs while encouraging collaboration across jurisdictions.
